Description
Description
Small, spotted and surprisingly fascinating, the humble ladybird gets the spotlight in this ladybird anatomy art print. The design is drawn in a stencil-based, woodcut-inspired style, with flowing silhouettes, characterful pen and ink strokes and simple symmetrical lines that show off the insect's form.
Red, yellow and jet black sit against a warm beige ground, giving it a vintage natural history feel with a modern, minimalist twist. The stencil technique adds lovely depth and texture, so it reads as both scientific study and decorative art. It is insect wall art that is equal parts curious and charming.
Styling the ladybird
It is a brilliant fit for a home office or study, where it adds a touch of curiosity, and it looks just as good in a living room, bedroom or hallway. In a kitchen and dining area it brings a cheerful garden feel. Pair it with dark wood, glass cloches, botanical prints, natural linen and warm red accents, or build a cabinet-of-curiosities gallery wall with the dragonfly, bee, moth and lobster anatomy prints.
It comes unframed or in a black, white or light wood frame. A sweet gift for gardeners, nature lovers, biology teachers, entomology fans, or anyone who considers a ladybird landing on them to be a sign of good luck.
