Feathers, florals and a whole lot of finery: this Regency peacock art print brings together two of the most flamboyant things imaginable. A regal peacock, draped in intricate floral attire and holding a petite, colourful bouquet, poses with all the grandeur of a nineteenth-century aristocrat sitting for a portrait.

The painting is rich with jewel tones, from deep blues to shimmering turquoise, set off by touches of jet black and a riot of multicoloured detail. It's peacock wall art with a vintage, classical sensibility, yet the idea behind it is wonderfully playful. Majestic and whimsical in equal measure, it's the sort of piece that makes people stop and smile.

Styling a showstopper

Give it pride of place in the living room, where those blues and turquoises can echo velvet sofas, teal cushions or a dark painted wall. In the hallway, it adds instant drama and colour. It also brings a touch of glamour to a kitchen or dining room, and in the bedroom it pairs beautifully with botanical prints, brass lamps and plush textiles. For a cohesive gallery wall, hang it alongside other Regency animal portraits.

This print makes a memorable gift for bird lovers, maximalists, period drama fans and anyone who believes more is more. A fabulous choice for a milestone birthday or a stylish friend's new home. It's offered unframed or in a black, white or light wood frame.
